Before we forget to say it - happy holidays, San Francisco! There’s not much more we can ask for at this time of year. We;ve got the fam, the gifts, and some of the best shows in the world coming right here to The Great Americans for concerts that rip the whammy bar and rip our hearts open alongside it. Same goes when we bring 4 Non Blondes to the stage this December on Wednesday the 17th - expect to be thrown back in to the 90s like its no ones business, and even if you weren’t there when it was on and poppin’ - i’m sure everyone reminds you how good life was before the 2000s. And the 4 Non Blondes were apart of that wave - giving us some of the best moments in music history and for all our remember whens. And now - fresh on their 30 year plus Anniversary Tour and more energized than ever - the band is back in town to deliver us their next blessing. Hitting stages all over the country - the band is back together to remind us why they’re still the queens of everything Alternative. They’re hitting Los Angeles, Mexico City, and of course - right here in San Fran to finish off the year.
If you were around ant tapped in during the 90s, then you know who the 4 Non Blondes are - so this is truly for the uninitiated. Formed back in 1989, they were technically only active for five years as far as the proper timeline of their career goes - but it seems like they made it work out for them. From the get go they were releasing singles like What’s Up? and selling out millions of copies of their first album after spending a year on top of the Billboard charts. After starting in the San Francisco bar scene it’s shocking they made it this far - so they’re trying to take their revitalized popularity back to the mainstage. “....honestly we are excited to get back to the clubs,” Linda Perry, bassist and creator of the band said in a press statement. “It’s where every band starts, you figure out what songs people like, learn about your mistakes, how to read the audience, most of all the audience gets a better understanding of who you are in this more intimate setting.”
So yeah - it’s gonna be one of those to remember and talk about for decades to come - or, until their next reunion tour hopefully. Get your passes - it’s time to fly. See ya soon.
