The Great American Music Hall
Mark your calendars and brace yourselves, San Fran — ‘cause the Great American is about to get LOUD. For two back-to-back nights, Friday, February 13th and Saturday, February 14th, 2026, the legendary Steel Pole Bath Tub and Alice Donut are joining forces for what might be one of the wildest, grungiest, and most chaotic reunions of underground rock royalty we’ve seen in years. Both bands carved out their own corners of the late ‘80s and ‘90s noise and punk scenes — San Francisco’s own sonic troublemakers and New York’s twisted art-punk visionaries colliding on the same stage once again. This isn’t just a show; it’s a time machine straight back to the golden age of distortion, rebellion, and raw, unapologetic sound. Whether you’ve been in the pit since Butterfly Love or just discovered Bucketfulls of Sickness and Horror, this double-header weekend is going to be the definition of filthy fun. Two nights, two legends, and one venue that’s seen it all — except this. Don’t miss it.
Formed in 1986 in Bozeman, Montana, Steel Pole Bath Tub was founded by guitarist/vocalist Mike Morasky and bassist/vocalist Dale Flattum. They later moved to Seattle, recruiting drummer Darren “Mor-X” Morey, and eventually relocated to San Francisco. Musically, they blended noise-rock, hardcore punk and experimental rock, often incorporating TV/film samples and jagged, aggressive riffs.Their early releases include Butterfly Love (1989) and Lurch(1990) on Boner Records. Their 1993 album The Miracle of Sound in Motion is often cited as a high-point for their sound—blurring heavy rock muscle with experimental audio collage. In 1995, they signed to the major-label Slash Records and released Scars From Falling Down, but it didn’t last long and the band ended up becoming subsequently inactive… that was until now. While they never won major mainstream awards, they earned a cult following (AKA us), and are recognized as some of the most influential in the noise/underground-rock scene, and spawned side-projects like Milk Cult and Tumor Circus.
So - ready to rock and roll San Francisco?! We know we are - so let’s party! See ya real real soon, right here for all the madness!
